Advanced Resuscitation
Overview:
This course deals with the provision of advanced first aid resuscitation techniques, life support and management of casualty(s), until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and provision of support to other providers.

Course Content:

Prepare resuscitation equipment ready for use

Apply bag and mask resuscitation technique

Attach and operate an AED

Administer oxygen

Operate suction equipment

Restore and maintain equipment ready for future use
Duration:
6 hours classroom training and assessment.
Who Should Attend:
This course is appropriate for those people who have completed HLTFA301B and wish to advance their knowledge in first aid.
It also targets people who are workplace first aiders who wishes to advance their knowledge, volunteer first aiders for sporting groups and people who are working/living in remote areas without immediate medical assistance.

HTLFA301B Apply First Aid
Students must be 16 years or older

Training Methods:
The course will be presented by group discussion, role plays, video, syndicate exercise, action plan development, case studies, practical exercises, lecture and report writing. The course is interactive and practical.
Course Assessment:
The assessment criteria for this course will be based on both informal and formal processes (as per Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) requirements for competency based training).

Recertification:
Valid for 1 year from the completion date. Annual refreshers recommended to maintain current CPR and advanced skills.
Notes:
Due to the practical components of the course, participants are advised to wear comfortable casual attire.
